Carol
Gillam
Carol
has worked in the investigation and security arena for
in excess of 20 years, where she has established herself
as a successful security professional. Carol has been
involved in many aspects of security from her roots
as a fraud investigation manager to being responsible
for the physical security and security policy design
and implementation within a blue-chip company. This
has enabled her to build extensive knowledge of the
law, surveillance and the associated legislation and
subsequent court action, from a public and private sector
perspective.
In her role within the blue chip company, Carol was
responsible for all aspects of security and information
assurance, from creating assignment instructions for
on-site guards to establishing CCTV requirements and
other associated physical security measures. Carol also
used those skills to carry out physical security reviews
on third party suppliers to ensure that they were able
to conduct business in a manner which protected the
brand and customers of her employer. Carol has also
represented this employer in financial industry body
working parties, addressing the internal fraud threat.
Additionally, Carol has extensive experience in call
centre security both within the UK and Off-shore where
she has led investigations into acts of fraud or malice.
These have resulted in successful prosecution of offenders,
enabling Carol to gain complete understanding of the
differing legal requirements in the UK from offshored
locations.
Over the past five years, Carol worked together with
Ian within a blue-chip company where Carol led the Business
element of the corporate security function. Having formed
a successful working relationship within this company,
and sharing the same ethos and working practices, Carol
and Ian both felt that they could offer an independent
service with a more personalised approach. Secure Future
Associates evolved from this concept.
Ian
Rees
Ian has an unusual background for the Business Risk
industry but one which provides a unique perspective
for Secure Future Associates. He has worked for 20 years
in Information Technology within the Financial Services
industry, for a number of Blue Chip companies. During
this time, he has worked in all disciplines within the
IT life cycle from project initiation to service management.
Ian specialises in 3rd party management processes, as
he has over 15 years relationship management experience
with suppliers, clients and member organisations. This
holistic involvement has enabled Ian to gain a comprehensive
understanding of threats and vulnerabilities throughout
the supply chain.
Ian has extensive experience in the development of methodologies
and processes, many of which are still in operation
with his previous employers. He has run workshops across
industries to illustrate best practice of risk identification
and resolution. This has been further evidenced in his
involvement in all aspects of 'right-sourcing', as he
has led in-sourcing, outsourcing and off-shoring initiatives.
He has also performed process assessments of existing
off-shored and outsourced operations and has a proven
ability to articulate any issues in both a technical
and business manner.
Ian has also carried out physical security reviews on
third party suppliers to ensure that they were able
to conduct business in a manner which protected the
brand and customers of his employer. He has also performed
post incident reviews following security breaches, for
which he utilised his ITIL skills gained whilst working
in more IT focussed roles.
Over the past five years, Ian worked together with Carol
within a blue-chip company where Ian worked as the technical
advisor in the corporate security function. Having formed
a successful working partnership within this company
and sharing the same ethos and working practices, Ian
and Carol both felt that they could offer an independent
service with a more personalised approach. Secure Future
Associates evolved from this concept.
